This vintage green Beni M'Guild Moroccan rug is rich in Ancient Berber symbolism, featuring many traditional symbols of femininity, conception and protection. It is ornamented with large diamond shapes, which represent a woman's openness to conceive and the power of womanhood. Smaller diamonds, when housed inside of larger diamonds, is known to represent the prediction of a pregnancy. The diamonds within diamonds symbolize birth and the image of a child. The eight-point star appears throughout the Moroccan rug and universally symbolizes harmony, balance and beauty. Intricate pops of ivory detail break up the blend of vivacious colors to bring equilibrium to the piece. The bordering pattern of fused triangles symbolize copulation and the outer border of dash marks represents the male's role in reproduction.
